HOW CAN I GET INVOLVED?
If we’re going to build a movement that can take on the billionaire class and create a society that works for all of us, we need as many people as possible to get involved. Here are some easy ways to get started today:
The first step is to join DSA! Denver DSA is the local chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America, the largest socialist organization in the United States. We seek to build a mass movement and transfer power from the ruling elite to the working class, thereby gaining freedom and democratic control over all aspects of our society. We are a democratically run, volunteer organization that is led entirely by members like you. There's are hundreds of local chapters across the US and a million ways to be in DSA. We make room for a variety of strategic approaches to fighting capitalism. Whether you're repairing your neighbors' brake lights, organizing a rent strike in your building, or fighting for public control of electric power, one thing is clear: We're stronger together.
ATTEND MEMBER ORIENTATION
Our chapter hosts new member orientations every other week, and we’d love to see you at one you can find a list of all our new member orientations here, as well as a list of all of our events here.
JOIN A COMMITTEE
Most work done in Denver DSA is organized through our committees or working groups (WG). To join a committee, simply reach out via email or slack and let the committee chair know you’d like to get involved--or just show up to that committee’s next meeting. VOLUNTEER WITH A CAMPAIGN
Both our local chapter and the national DSA sometimes organize bigger campaigns that everyone in the chapter gets involved in. Our chapter is an entirely volunteer-run organization; the success of our initatives, campaigns, and projects depends on all of us banding together to accomplish our democratically decided goals. There are no magic infusions of outside money or paid experts. Whether you're a seasoned organizer or new to it all, there's room for you to get started on any campaign and develop your organizing chops.
