DSA members rally at the capitol for Medicare For All

Comrades, it’s been another busy month for the friendliest socialist organization in the Mile High City. Read on for highlights from our recent work and a list of upcoming events. Please join us for the kickoff Medicare for All Canvass on Sunday!

Medicare for All Campaign

On April 22 members of DSA, along with the Colorado Foundation for Universal Healthcare, rallied at the capitol for Medicare for All. We heard from nurses, doctors, medical students, and local candidates about why Medicare for All is a necessity and how we can achieve universal health care

The canvass logistics committee ran two pilot M4A canvassing days in April. We knocked on hundreds of doors and were able to hear from the community how Medicare for All would improve resident’s lives in tangible ways. We plan to do our first ever canvass kickoff on May, 20th at 10am, Aztlan Rec Center.

Labor Organizing

DSA members show solidarity with United Airlines catering workers and UNITE HERE Local 23

On Saturday, May 5, DSA joined an action at Denver International Airport with United Airlines catering workers. These workers, 95% of the whom are immigrants and people of color, are fighting for a union with UNITE HERE Local 23. Worker-leaders, organizers, and DSA allies handed out leaflets and talked to passengers about United’s poverty wages, harsh working conditions, and illegal union-busting efforts. DSA has also been invited to attend a rally at the airport on May 23 at 2pm.
